Protecting the “Other” Members in Your Family
Pets are just like family, offering companionship, unconditional love, and loyalty. Our Pet Insurance can easily be added to your homeowners policy so you won’t have to worry about your pet’s health again. Protect your four-legged friends, both cats and dogs, against accidental injury and illness at a cost that’s more affordable than you think.
How Pet Insurance works
We can insure cats and dogs 6 weeks of age and older, although the maximum age at which your pet can be added is 8 years old for dogs and 10 for cats. Pre-existing conditions are excluded, so it is best to insure your pet at an early age.
Simply choose a maximum annual benefit of $2,500 or $5,000, both with a $100 deductible and 10% coinsurance.
There is a 14 day waiting period after the effective date during which we will not cover any illness of your pet. Coverage for injuries will begin 24 hours after the effective date.
Take your ill or injured pet to the licensed veterinarian of your choice. Obtain an invoice for any treatment or medication showing the type and nature of treatment, fees charged, and the reason for treatment.
Provide us with the original invoices within 90 days of the first treatment. We will then process the claim and reimburse you the covered portion of the bill.
An Example of a Pet Insurance Claim
If you have a covered claim of $1,500, the first 10% coinsurance is applied and $150 is deducted from the covered amount, leaving $1,350. Then the deductible of $100 is applied, leaving $1,250. Out of the original $1,500 we will reimburse you a total of $1,250.
Note: You must arrange for your pet to be kept vaccinated at your expense against the following: Dogs: Rabies, Distemper, Adenovirus Type 2, Parvovirus, Bordetella, and Parainfluenza Cats: Rabies and FVRCP
